The big one is really big, small one is perfect.
It does not have the peek-a-boo holes in it like others I looked at but that doesn't seem to effect them playing. They just hang over the opening and paw at each other.
Overall, I would recommend this cave for cats enrichment, play and sleeping.
Also I got the XL one my cat is a big boy. Last vet visit he came in at whooping 22 lbs of pure fluff. As you can see in my photos and videos, he has plenty room for him inside the cave to move around freely and the little nook up top fits him like a glove. He is snug as a bug in a rug up there hanging out in it, as I am writing this and it's adorable! 5 stars we both absolutely adore it!!!
The only thing I would change would be if it had a peek hole so they could play with each other when they are using it at the same time.
A tip: sometimes when he seems to lose interest I’ll move it to another area of the house and he’s usually right back to it within a day. I find this tip works well for many of my cat toys.

The three little toys that come with it are really quite good
They have encouraged cat to explore the tunnel by us throwing the soft balls around inside for it to be seen when it comes around, and dog ,too big for tunnel, is just a fascinated by the sound and movement so it’s a good toy for every family member as it brings a moment of joy for us as well seeing the pets happy and safely curious.
Update: mama purchased one of those "original" ones with a peekaboo hole. The entrance is smaller and overall, the feel of the unit is smaller - I can still fit easily but it will be tougher for Scouty. It came all folded up and looks like there was a cat fight! Of course we never fight, it's just what mama imagines it would look like 🙀😸
